Change Management

Consulting is our passion.

While Google is providing the soft side of internet, at CISCO you find the back bone of it: the hard things that stand behind our apps and search engines. Apart from this, nowadays CISCO has a new mission: to be at the forefront of the Internet of Things.

IoT is about connecting people, data and processes to things. It is about connecting people in a more relevant way. It is about leveraging data into more useful information for decision making. It is about optimizing processes meaning to deliver the right information to the right person (or machine) at the right time. All three are connected to things: physical devices and objects connected to internet and each other for intelligent decision making.

According to research conducted by CISCO, the ranking of the most affected industrial sectors impacted by the digital vortex shows technology product & services, media & entertainment, retail, financial services, telecommunication, education, hospitality & travel, manufacturing, healthcare, utilities, pharmaceuticals. Let’s have a look at some of them.

Digital manufacturing

While applied to manufacturing, IoT can easily provide reduced downtime, reduction in defects, facile new product implementation, improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), improve inventory management and reduce energy consumption.

Digital transportation

As for digital transportation, even more impact on human life can be attached to IoT. Improved safety, increased mobility, reduced emissions, better assets utilization, enhanced employee productivity, reduced costs and all of these while improving the customer experience and its economic value.

Digital cities

Furthermore, if we look into the public sector, IoT is again able to provide significant changes: improved emergency response, improved urban services, improved parking (did you know that we spend between 1 and 3 years of our life searching for parking spaces?), increased citizen safety, reduced emission and cost of living. This could be an opportunity to modernize old cities or to build new digital/smart ones.

Concluding, companies and societies that will incorporate the technologies that are powered by digitization, for example sensors & actuators, machine & deep learning, real-time predictive analysis, next gen collaboration (P2P, P2M, M2M) are doing the right steps to become hyperaware, predictive and agile.
